Our Mission
The Wauconda Woman’s Club was organized in 1929, and in 2024 celebrates its 95th anniversary. We are a volunteer organization with the purpose of promoting various community projects, cultural programs, and leadership among women. We are members of the General Federation of Women‘s Clubs (GFWC), which is over 130 years old, the GFWC Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs, which celebrated 130 years in 2024, and GFWC Illinois, 10th District General Federation of Women‘s Clubs.

Since 1890, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) brings volunteers together by creating inclusive communities around the world. With approximately 60,000 members nationwide, including the District of Columbia, and 12 countries GFWC volunteers make a global impact. GFWC members vary in age, talent, location, background, and profession, but are united in their dedication to actively improve the lives of others.
